Sowing & Reaping
There is a good chance of folk thinking they can sow to the flesh yet not have to reap corruption. Note Galatians 6:7, 8, "Be not deceived; God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap everlasting life." We must not overlook the fact that this was written to members of the church, not to outsiders - not directly to nonmembers, as least; however, to does apply to the unconverted because it is a universal principle. In the next verse, disciples are told that they are to continue in their labors and not grow weary in well doing because one will reap the good fruits if he is faithful to the end. The same encouragement to hold out faithfully to the end of life is found in Revelation 2:10 and in 1 Corinthians 16:13.
When the child of God knows that he cannot live like the devil and still go to heaven like Christ, he will devote himself to clean or holy habits and also to a "cross-bearing" and "self-denying" life of labor in the Lord's kingdom.
Church member, wake up!!! If you do not awake, (Eph. 5:14), you might not have a harvest to your liking. Be warned, we can't do wrong and escape the wrath of God. If we could, then we could mock God - who thinks he can mock God? Please read the following: "Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: But if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live." Romans 8:12, 13.
