When our forefathers came from Europe they brought to the New World a belief in God, and His sacred Word, the Bible! Thus, this country was founded upon Christian principles. the Liberty Bell has inscribed upon it, "Proclaim liberty throughout all the land, to all the inhabitants thereof" (Leviticus 25:10). The influence of God and His word influenced the legal system of our laws of our nation. Our currency has engraved upon it, "In God We Trust." From George Washington to George Bush, every president of the United States has believed in God and God's word. The value system of this country was embedded in God and His Word.
We have seen in our life time, God, His Word, and prayer removed from our schools. Now many students are being taught the godless theory of evolution; the Bible is a hoax; and that there is no absolute standard of morality. So we should not be surprised when student's behavior reflects what they have been taught!
Beloved, the government with all of its programs and power cannot change human nature! "O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps" (Jeremiah 10:23). Parents must instill in the hearts of their children strong convictions of right and wrong based on God's Word. My friends, the only hope this nation and the world has is found in God and His word. Yes, you and your family are the key to turning this nation back to God and His Word! Begin by bringing your family to Bible study and worship this Lord's day at the Curry Street church of Christ.
