Bones
The prophet Ezekiel once asked, "Can these bones live again?" It is a good question for us to ask, while at the same time admitting the truth that "the bones" rattling in some groups are not always "skeletons in closets," but are bones that exist right around us.
There are usually five kinds of bones in most groups:
LAZY BONES
They think the idea is good as long as it doesn't involve work.
JAW BONES
They talk much but do little. Theirs is lip service.
WISH BONES
Their theme is wishing will make it so; and they wish someone else would do the
work.
KNUCKLE BONES
They take pleasure in knocking everything others do, and they do no work
themselves.
BACK BONES
But finally and gratefully, there are the back bones. They get behind every
endeavor, work and push until the job is done and done well.
Now, this may tickle your "funny bone" a little, but it reminds us that it is the Back Bone members who give the big push to things and who achieve success.
