No, You Don't Have To Go To Church
How many times have you heard someone say, "Do you mean to say that I have to attend every service of the church?" How many people do you know that feel that all they have to do is go to church once a week on Sunday?
I would like to answer this question. No, you don't have to go to church every time the door opens. No one can make you do anything like this as long as you are a free moral agent. You don't even have to go on Sunday morning if you don't want to. The only thing you have to do is be born, die, and GO TO HELL.
The Bible says that you are not to forsake the assembly, Hebrews 10:25. To me, if I am a Christian, this means that I want to go to church every time it has services. I want to go to church because I love my God. The best answer I have heard pertaining to this question is that the Bible says that you are to love God with all your heart, with all they soul, and with all thy might.
Everyone should go to church because they want to and not because they have to in order that they might get to heaven. Actually, just going to church during every service isn't going to get you to heaven anyway. Bro. W. A. Bradfield says that going to church is just getting started. It is like you take your car to a service station to get it greased, oil changed, and filled with gas before embarking on a trip. You are just getting ready to go.
So the next time you hear someone ask if they have to go to church, just tell them no, you don't have to; all you have to do is be born, die, and go to hell. HOW MANY HOURS WILL YOU SPEND WORSHIPPING THE LORD THIS WEEK?
