Building Up The Church
Every Christian's Concern
The fervent desire of every follower of Christ should be that of seeing the Lord’s church grow spiritually as well as numerically. As a matter of fact, one cannot correctly call himself a true follower of Christ and not desire to see the church built up! As there are certain necessary ingredients for success in the secular world so also with the body of Christ, and one that is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY is that of developing an OPTIMISTIC ATTITUDE!
No matter how many programs of work or number of ministers a congregation may have, unless there is an optimistic attitude throughout the congregation (especially among the elders, deacons, ministers and Bible class teachers) the Lord’s cause will never begin to reach the potential it is capable of reaching!
Being optimistic is not being naive nor blind to certain problems. Rather it is "an inclination to put the most favorable construction upon actions and happenings or to anticipate the best possible outcome." Is this not to be the Christian’s attitude towards the Lord’s work and life in general? Such an attitude is not easily developed, even among God’s people, because of a lack of faith and unwillingness to rigidly submit to God’s Word. Below are five points that will (IF APPLIED) help develop an optimistic attitude that can and must prevail among God’s people if we are to be as God would have us.
Yes, determine in your hear RIGHT NOW to do everything within your power to help build up the glorious cause of Christ!
